A little something about me

The better question is... who are you?
My name is Tara Maylyn Frankel and I'm an east-coaster by heart.  I'm spending the finale of my 4-plus years in Southern California for college, and it has made me a little more laid back than I'd like to believe.  Gone is the black clothing of my former years and in its place are rainbow colored brights and neon nailpolish.  However, even though I do remember I can't wear flip flops year round, and there is a time and a place for a bathing suit, I'm thrilled to be almost done and back; and, unfortunately, for you, I have decided to share my adventures.

So what even goes on here?
Well, I'm an aspiring writer-ish...So I babble about things I see on the street, at home, in class, on the subway.  I've also realized that when you live alone, it's hard to depend on someone else to cook for you.  So I've also started to cook and will share these troubles too.  I've worked retail jobs in fashion (Saks) and technology (Apple) up until my internship in PR and those things also tend to pop up here as well.  Basically this is my brain barf - you might want to take a shower.

But, darling, why on earth would you call your blog that?
I know, I know... the site isn't all that orange. Why the title then?  Well, I happen to hail from a little place called New Jersey; and, despite my upbringing in one of the more rural areas in the United States (we lived on farm with cows, horses, oh yeah and our 500 pound pig, Priscilla) my mother was from Wayne, New Jersey and my father was from Baldwin, Long Island.  Long story, short- I've retained a bit of an accent, and as most of my friends like to point out, I say "horribly orange" like I got smacked on the side of my head and became a bit oxygen deficient: "haaarribly aaaarange."  The unfortunate images of Snooki conjured up by this phrase, I truly apologize for.  Nevertheless this phrase sums up the type of person I have come to be: a little bit country, a little bit rock n' roll.
