So, I happened to take a trip recently to Vermont where I visited a relatively famous writer who also happens to be my friend, professor and mentor. Anyways, we happened to be on a day excursion to Manchester and my fellow literary brethren and I wandered into, of all places, a bookstore.
However, this was no ordinary bookstore. There happened to be a child’s shop above the rows of books, brightly colored and sounding of tinkling, child’s music. After making friends with a cashier and embarassingly asking her if she happened to have a squirrel shaped silly band (and then having her introduce us to her friend the squirrel who happened to be a stuffed animal victim to her amateur ventriloquism) we stumbled back to the safety of the register.
It was there that I found myself fondling the mother of all gems truly intended for use by children. Dash it!, these children’s bracelets were not made to hang feebly on the wrist of a little one. And, no, they’re not the next Silly Bandz…
They’re these MOGO bracelets,
intended as charm bracelets for children; however, the bracelets on their own are simple, cute and incredibly functional. I have two right now that I wear individually or link to one another to create a wrap bracelet- Oh yeah they link!! Mine are getting a bit worn because I can’t get over the compliments I get...
I'm wearing them below linked as a wrap bracelet.
I’ve already had multiple requests to get them for birthday presents and gifts, possibly for a friend of mine whose number happens to start with “M.”
Then much to my surprise when I look to buy more, the online retailer the site links me to is Neiman Marcus and Jessica Gottlieb apparently is all over it--maybe I’m late to the game.
